Our second Premier team this season 4 South Red, played on an unusually good green at Glenelg. This was the last game of the season, and the guys had a great win 76/49. All 3 teams played well, but one team received an 8 which was the start of a breakaway for them. This team was Dean Haines, Harry Branolt, Alan Cawley and Mark Green and was achieved in Red time. Well done for a great win to you all who played.
On Sunday 22nd Jan the ladies pairs final was played between Dawn Stoddart, Gail Hodshon against Liz Rowley and Catherine Farrell. Gail and Dawn got an early jump taking the first few ends and never looked back. Dawn had a great game as skip converting a number of ends to keep the scoreboard ticking over and taking the win to become club champions.
Gail and Dawn now progress to the state champion of champions competition later this year
Well done to all four ladies on making the final and playing the game in a great spirit.
On Sunday evening it was the clash of the undefeated first and second placed teams Brighton and Willunga in the Super Challenge cup. John (Smiffy) Smith won his sixth singles game to remain unbeaten. Trevor White and Steve Bester won the pairs. Carli went down in the triples and Kev ROWLEY lost on the last bowl so it finished even. This invokes the super end as there can be no draws. A singles game of 3 ends with the winner taking the points. Up stepped Smiffy against their state player and won 4-0 taking all three ends. A great evening at Adelaide and after six games we sit top of our section.
