Ladies Pairs Final Club Championships

On Sunday 22nd Jan the ladies pairs final was played between Dawn Stoddart, Gail Hodshon against Liz Rowley and Catherine Farrell. Gail and Dawn got an early jump taking the first few ends and never looked back. Dawn had a great game as skip converting a number of ends to keep the scoreboard ticking over and taking the win to become club champions.
Gail and Dawn now progress to the state champion of champions competition later this year
Well done to all four ladies on making the final and playing the game in a great spirit.

Super Challenge

On Sunday evening it was the clash of the undefeated first and second placed teams Brighton and Willunga in the Super Challenge cup. John (Smiffy) Smith won his sixth singles game to remain unbeaten. Trevor White and Steve Bester won the pairs. Carli went down in the triples and Kev ROWLEY lost on the last bowl so it finished even. This invokes the super end as there can be no draws. A singles game of 3 ends with the winner taking the points. Up stepped Smiffy against their state player and won 4-0 taking all three ends. A great evening at Adelaide and after six games we sit top of our section.

Corporate Club Challenge – City of Holdfast Bay

On Tuesday 7th Feb staff from the local council staff attended the club to learn to bowl and play an inter department competition over the next 4 Tuesdays. Coach Lee led the session helped by Trevor White. Rob Leonard and john Smith cooked the sausage sizzle and all had a great time.

Night Owls Challenge

Night owls ChallengeAs Thursday Nightowls was cancelled as its Australia Day nine teams turned up to play on Wednesday night. This gave us 34 teams and virtually filling all rinks across the 3 greens.The bowling was followed by a sausage sizzle cooked by WaL T and Smiffy. John Souness ran the bar.It was a beautiful night and Linden flew his drone to take some snaps.The wheel of fortune went well with winners taking $92 and $64 and $20.The comp ended a draw with 4 wins for each night and one draw. A great evening was had by all

Bingo

Great to see people turn out for a game of bingo. There was plenty of house calls with the money shared around. A couple of wheels of fortune say Wal Tarca win both! Thanks to Fish for coordinating and counting the money, George D for his excellent calling his assistant Roger David, bar staff George and Stacey who managed to grab a house or two and to Loc and his team for the excellent food.
